2nd Jan 2008, I travelled from Hong Kong to my studio in Beijing. Apart from buying food and art materials nearby, I spent 22 hours a day in the studio. In the 20 days of isolation from the surroundings, I draw an image of mountain on 8.4m long panel (the possible length of my studio) and then erased the drawing. The dust and marks made during the erasing are sealed on the panels.

I came to Beijing 4 times in 2007 for preparing the studio. The concept of this piece comes from the idea of “Bringing my faith in art to Beijing”. In the planning, the image of mountain supposed remain little and blurred. In fact, the shape of mountain was even getting clearer while I was sealing the surface, did Faith moves Mountain…?

二零零八年一月二日,我從香港到達北京的工作室。除了到附近買食物及創作所需物料外,其餘時間都在工作室裡渡過,每天約廿二小時。這隔絕的二十天裡,在工作室可容納的長度內(約八點二米)的板面上畫山的形象,之後用橡皮擦去,最後將擦拭過程的痕跡及橡皮屑及塵埃等封住在板上。

零七年我四次來到北京預備工作室,最初這個計劃的念頭源自於表達我將「創作的信念帶到北京」這一行徑。計劃中,山的形象應該被橡皮擦去大部份而餘下微弱的痕跡。不過到最後發現,在整個「行為」完成後,封存痕跡的光油將餘下的炭粉深深地沉入木板之中,山的形象被柔軟的橡皮「擦去」後仍剩餘清晰的輪廓,移山者,愚公也?
